Why have a new boiler?

The most obvious reason is that the existing one is broken and is beyond economical repair. There are however less obvious reasons to consider.

  • Moving your boiler
Sometimes when you need your boiler moving, it isn’t always feasible to put the same one in the new location as it may be old and deteriorating. It might be more suitable to consider replacing the boiler at the same time.

  • Extended home
When you extend your home, in certain cases the current boiler can struggle with the increase in heating demand. A symptom of this could be that your radiators are not heating up fully. A new boiler with a higher kWh rating would be able to resolve this problem.

  • Additional bathroom
Additional bathrooms can result in a greater hot water demand due to additional showers and baths. In some cases, this will require a larger boiler. This is more likely if the hot water is powered by a combination boiler.

  • Energy efficiency & cost saving
Installing an A rated boiler can save up to £200 per year depending on the system that you currently have. Condensing boilers utilise more of the energy stored within the gas and therefore save you money.
Smart thermostats such as Nest and Hive learn your heating habits and can be programmed to adjust themselves automatically to your heating needs.

Radiator & full system installation

If you are looking to change old radiators for more efficient ones or maybe just something that is more aesthetic to look at then please  get in touch.

  • We offer a supply and fit service but will also fit radiators that you have purchased.
  • We are also able to offer full heating design and installation services for homes where no heating is present.
  • In cases where the property has no gas service pipe or meter we are able to assist with organising the installation through Wales & West utilities.

"Easy Heating Ltd replaced my boiler in December 2020 and I am very pleased to recommend their services. Rush responded very quickly when I contacted him and he completed the job efficiently and tidily with absolutely no fuss or disruption. He gave excellent advice about a replacement which has proved ideal for my needs and also provided clear instructions about how it all worked. A first class job!!"

Power Flushing

We offer a power flushing service designed to clear unwanted sludge and debris from your heating system.

Why power flush?

Power flushing may be necessary if there is a build up of sludge in your system. A simple way to check this yourself is if your radiators feel hot at the top, but cold at the bottom.

There are other tests that can determine whether a power flush is necessary, such as taking a water sample which gives instant results. If left untreated, sludge can cause serious damage to the heating system and components. Blocked heat exchangers, valves and broken pumps can occur and in severe cases systems may need to be re-piped.

Sludge build up is caused by a lack of corrosion inhibitor in the heating system. Corrosion inhibitor prevents the deterioration of steel on the inside of the radiators. If this has been depleted due to a leak, or never put in to the system in the first place, then then the radiators will start to erode from the inside. This manifests as black or orange sludge.

This sludge will eventually cause severe blockages throughout the entire heating system.  As mentioned before, a simple test that you can do yourself is to check if radiators heat up at the top but not at the bottom. This shows that a radiator has sludge in it and isn’t allowing the water to flow all the way through it.

System Protection

If you are looking to add layers of protection to your existing heating and water systems to prevent corrosion and limescale build-up, then then there are many options available to you.

  • Magnetic heating filter
The magnetic heating filter can remove existing magnetite from entering your boiler from within heating system. Magnetite is a black sludge that is formed from the corrosion of steel. Magnetite causes essential components within the heating system to break.

  • Inhibitor dosing
Inhibitor will prevent system corrosion. If your system does not have the correct levels of inhibitor, then the system will slowly start to corrode, producing sludge within the system. Inhibitor levels can be determined from taking a water sample which produces instant results.

  • Limescale
Limescale is a real problem in certain areas of the country and unfortunately Bristol and the South West have a particularly bad problem with it. There are several options available, some of which reduce lime scale and some that will stop it altogether:
  • Scale reducers reduce the amount of scale, but do not eliminate the problem altogether.
  • Water softeners will completely get rid of limescale, but you will need to add salts annually.
